How SMS Delivery Works

Program Description
Not Just Another Day is a one-time gift product. A gift buyer pays once, selects a theme (e.g. Stoic Wisdom, Gratitude, Dad Jokes), and provides the recipient's phone number. The recipient — the person receiving the gift — then receives one themed SMS per day for up to 365 days.
The gift buyer does not receive SMS messages. No daily messages are sent until the recipient explicitly confirms by replying YES or tapping the link in their invitation SMS.
Who Consents
Consent is collected exclusively from the message recipient. The gift buyer initiates the process by purchasing and providing the recipient's phone number, but daily messages do not begin until the recipient actively confirms. This is a two-step recipient-confirmed opt-in:
- First step — gift buyer: The buyer provides the recipient's phone number during purchase and agrees to the SMS consent disclosure.
- Second step — recipient: The recipient receives an invitation SMS with two ways to confirm: reply YES or tap the confirmation link. Either action activates their subscription. No messages are sent until this step is completed.

This opt-in path is not yet active. It will be enabled in a future update.
Recipients originally set up with email delivery will be able to switch to SMS themselves by visiting their personalized settings page, selecting SMS, entering their phone number, and tapping Save changes. The following consent disclosure will be shown directly above the save button:
“By entering your phone number and tapping Save changes, you expressly consent to receive 1 SMS message per day for up to 365 days from Not Just Another Day. Message frequency: 1 msg/day. Msg & data rates may apply. To unsubscribe, text STOP to any message. For help, text HELP to any message or email help@notjustanother.day.”

Data Use
The recipient's phone number is used solely to deliver the messages they confirmed. It is not used for marketing and is not sold or shared with third parties, except as required to operate the SMS delivery service.
